What's the shelf life? I've got stuff that's been sitting for like 5 years now... I used some about a year ago and it was still good at that point.Apparently according to everything I am reading, sound deadening has a shelf life. My stuff has been sitting around for over two years. Looks like I will sound deaden the doors another time. On with the install lol.
I have an entire new box of 80mil MAT66 ProBlack and it seems to be done but I have had the box in a closet for over 2 years. I was able to heat some up in the over and those are the pieces I used on my A-Pillar pods. That is sticking just fine. So I don't know if they are recoverable. I have the box in my shed out back and I know it gets well over 100 degrees in there so I will check later this week. What's the shelf life? I've got stuff that's been sitting for like 5 years now... I used to buy Hushmat which I liked because it was US made and totally odorless but after a couple of years it got super dry and basically is coming apart. Weird because real butyl is not supposed to dry at all unless it's constantly under sunlight for years. They probably add a bunch of fillers to it. Sucks because Hushmat is not a budget brand. I don't have this issue with Damplifier.Does sound deadener go bad??? I was going to deaden my front doors and install my midbass but upon checking my deadener, it seems like it has no tackiness to it at all. I set 6 squares of it out in direct sunlight to warm it up and it still feels untacky. Does it go bad or does the action of rolling it on activate the adhesive??
Mine has been in the shed since I mentioned it feeling dry. I am going to check today to see if it is usable. I found my 150mil Noico Red so that seems to be fine. That's just adhesive backed foam.I used to buy Hushmat which I liked because it was US made and totally odorless but after a couple of years it got super dry and basically is coming apart. I always hated looking for a spot to mount the holder. By the way, that fuse location would not pass the rubber chicken test. LOL... Only the old timer installers would know that about the rubber chicken test.Change of plans!! I was missing an Allen screw to the fuse holder so I swapped it out. Installed the 0awg OFC orange cable.
