they interpreted the law. They decided that since abortion laws violated the constitution they shouldn't be allowed, so abortion was legalized.
How did they create a law?

They did not create any law, they took a law and decided it was not good and trashed it. It was what the majority of americans wanted (by representation)

well, the federal government set up the Dept. of Treasury, and then the IRS followed, and based on the constitution:
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense.

i agree. our government is not why we became a super power though. we the people were. our government is supposed to work for our best interests. if they don't, we would call that being communist or socialist. that means that we are currently closer to socialism now than the republic we should be and used to be.

you used Social Security as an example saying look at how the government is moving forward with it, (GWB wants to privatize it) and you say we are moving torwards socialism.

I am refering to the past, they have done a great job LOL. I personally think that retirement should be done on a personal basis.

the judicial branch is the LEAST responsive branch of government.

judging how America is the only superpower in the world and has held a superpower status for at least 150 years continuously, I think I would keep the government around.
I'm not saying their perfect, but just because some of them make bad decisions doesn't mean they are all bad people.

You're forgetting one other form of government, one which is actually closer to our current situation, but you wont hear it talked about on the corporate owned right or left radio shows or TV.
