If I want to get a decent picture of what's going on here, I'll listen to a foreign news broadcast. This whole "left vs. right" mentality is utterly disgusting, if anyone had a sense of history they'd realize how backwards it really is to divide yourself down those lines. Fox News to me is a joke, along with MSNBC...I think both of those have pretty much settled as being pure entertainment, rather than anything of journalistic value...CNN, at some level, tries to be the news network it once was, but it's hopelessly ****ed in the same mire as the others.
For example, after the Bhutto assassination last week I caught a minute or two of CNN - they had Hillary Clinton on sharing her thoughts about it. Why the hell do I care about what she thinks? Is this supposed to help placate me and make a decision (assuming I could vote in a primary anyway, as an independent I basically get told to **** off in every state except NH)? I'd rather hear about what's actually happening over there...by non-Americans...which is why I'd rather listen to foreign shortwave broadcasts from countries that may like us, or may not like us.
Sure, there's bias anywhere you get the news, but if I listen to Radio Netherlands' excellent English European news program, the BBC World Service, and maybe an English program from Radio Pakistan or elsewhere, somewhere in the middle of those agendas is a lot more info than you're going to find Bill O'Reilly spewing out.
