they have the power to interpret the laws. They cannot create laws.
The only reason why you think they "create laws" is because there interpretations must be followed.

You are correct , but the government has taken on its own life, it was supposed to do those things that the private sector or the states couldn't, that is what the taxes were for, it has grown into doing things that the states and the private sector want and should be doing. example: the Federal government giving entitlements was not what I believe the founding fathers intended the taxes levied were to be used for.

They thought a lot of things.

judging how America is the only superpower in the world and has held a superpower status for at least 150 years continuously, I think I would keep the government around.

I'm not saying their perfect, but just because some of them make bad decisions doesn't mean they are all bad people.

just look at lasic surgrey for eyes. new technology and almost anyone can afford it. why? because it is private and not in any way ran by government or insurance. free enterprise and capitalism.

you used Social Security as an example saying look at how the government is moving forward with it, (GWB wants to privatize it) and you say we are moving torwards socialism.

by privatizing things.

the government is still quite an important piece in the power and stance of a nation.
