I just heard my first Magnum D2..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif

SICK!!!

The setup was one magnum D2 in a 2.2 cube box after displacement tuned to 27 HZ with a Tsunami 1100 runnin to it in a Lexus IS300. Me and my friend installed it and this sub was everything I expected and more. I owned a W7 in a 3.75 sube box tuned to 35 HZ and a 3.0 cube box tuned to 30 HZ, and I will say hands down, the Magnum D2 SOUNDED BETTER than the W7. The W7 went lower (not to say the D2 doesnt go low, its the lowest 12 ive ever heard) but the D2 definately had an advantage in tightest and SQ. Also, I would say the W7 had a more full sounding bass, but I think the D2 with 100 watts extra was just as loud if not louder. Im very anxious to get my friends W7 and the D2 side by side to see which one is reallly louder, but im sure it wil be very close.

The only complaint I have is that perhaps 1100 watts was overdoing it because that sub was moving! I mean the excursion was huge, watching that D2 symbol move in and out made me want to turn down the volume because it looked the like sub was doing mroe than it was supposed to....even though it probably wasnt.

Im getting two 15A's, and ill have the W7-d2-15a comparison once they come in, but for now it just makes me think, why would someone spend 600-700 more on a sub that sounds just as good and is just as loud? I know i did, but it is making me think now....

Finally, to anyone on a budget looking to buy a sub, look no further www.stereointegrity.com

same install, same vehicle? well, i replaced my 12W7 with a Magnum D2. I like the Magnum more. I can't believe this sub has not became the talk of every forum like brahma's and 12A's have. IMO it is one of the best subs $$$ can buy.

I doubt you were. I've pushed one of mine to the limit with 800w freeair. You'll know its the limit because it will make a distinct tapping-type sound when the cone hits the spider on the backstroke. Nothing really to worry about, though. It took it like a champ.

This is great to hear- I was dead set on the Magnum and then stupid me went reading the Sounddomain boards and they dont hardly talk of it. Im just getting into this and Jacob and stereointegrity is awesome.

anyway- SD boards got talking about the IDMAX and how great it is.

This post will make my mind up for sure. My magnum will be ordered friday!!!

i agree. magnum over idmax hands down
Oh yeah, not even close. Has anyone else compared it to a W7? I was really shocked by this sub, it sounds better and tighter ported than most subs do sealed. If you get it port it and tune it low like 25-30 HZ, thats my recomendation because it will be as loud as you could ever want with great SQ. And for all you people who care about hearing bass outside of the car for some reason...the kid was driving two cars behind me and at a stop light my mirrors were shaking. Yeah, it gets the job done

sweet this makes me want a d2 right now but i have to wait till monday to order one because nick @stereo integrity is with his family for thanksgiving.

its gonna be in a 4.5 cubic foot box tuned 2 32hz and then when i have the cash im going to put another one in the same box.

i cant wait!!!!!
