I owned a W7 in a 3.75 sube box tuned to 35 HZ and a 3.0 cube box tuned to 30 HZ, and I will say hands down, the Magnum D2 SOUNDED BETTER than the W7. The W7 went lower (not to say the D2 doesnt go low, its the lowest 12 ive ever heard) but the D2 definately had an advantage in tightest and SQ. Also, I would say the W7 had a more full sounding bass, but I think the D2 with 100 watts extra was just as loud if not louder.
I just heard my first Magnum D2..... SICK!!! The setup was one magnum D2 in a 2.2 cube box after displacement tuned to 27 HZ with a Tsunami 1100 runnin to it in a Lexus IS300. Me and my friend installed it and this sub was everything I expected and more. Im very anxious to get my friends W7 and the D2 side by side to see which one is reallly louder, but im sure it wil be very close. The only complaint I have is that perhaps 1100 watts was overdoing it because that sub was moving! I mean the excursion was huge, watching that D2 symbol move in and out made me want to turn down the volume because it looked the like sub was doing mroe than it was supposed to....even though it probably wasnt. Im getting two 15A's, and ill have the W7-d2-15a comparison once they come in, but for now it just makes me think, why would someone spend 600-700 more on a sub that sounds just as good and is just as loud? I know i did, but it is making me think now.... Finally, to anyone on a budget looking to buy a sub, look no further www.stereointegrity.com
