I bet the only cd alpine deck that might possibly be made in Japan now is the F1 status. I think all of their other audio decks(don't know about the dvd units) is made in China. Eclipse's lower end decks over the past few years have been made in China and possibly Malaysia(some clarions are made there as well), and their upper end ones were made in Korea with korean and japanese parts.the silver RF headunit (platinum) is the Denon A-1 copy, they be awesome.
I don't think there's ANY large scale company int he world who has everything sourced and built in one country anymore.
Heck, mcintosh is now built in china, amps under DEI (including PPI, a/d/s, Orion) are bulit in Korean buildhouese, who are also moving to china.
Pioneer, Kenwood, alpine, JVC, Sony, Eclipse, Aiwa, all these are Jap man.
China is doing a ton of car audio stuff these days. Finding a manufacturer that builds everything in the US is pretty tough.
Alpine amps used to be made in the US, but I remember seeing an article on a forum a few months ago saying they were moving operations to Mexico.
