The company that can do it all

the silver RF headunit (platinum) is the Denon A-1 copy, they be awesome.
I don't think there's ANY large scale company int he world who has everything sourced and built in one country anymore.

Heck, mcintosh is now built in china, amps under DEI (including PPI, a/d/s, Orion) are bulit in Korean buildhouese, who are also moving to china.

Pioneer, Kenwood, alpine, JVC, Sony, Eclipse, Aiwa, all these are Jap man.
I bet the only cd alpine deck that might possibly be made in Japan now is the F1 status. I think all of their other audio decks(don't know about the dvd units) is made in China. Eclipse's lower end decks over the past few years have been made in China and possibly Malaysia(some clarions are made there as well), and their upper end ones were made in Korea with korean and japanese parts.

China is doing a ton of car audio stuff these days. Finding a manufacturer that builds everything in the US is pretty tough.

Alpine amps used to be made in the US, but I remember seeing an article on a forum a few months ago saying they were moving operations to Mexico.

diamond audio amps are made in the US, but i know that there subs and speakers are made in the good ol' place called china.
Yeah, I used to work for a US Customs brokerage firm, and I remember talking

to my former boss one day.

He said, "MB Quart speakers are made in China?" He imported them, and the country of origin was China. He was quite surprised.

lol, thats funny stuff.

as far as quality control goes, i think there is a difference in quality, regardless of where its made, when you buy a $2 made in china product from a dollar store and a $600 set of speakers thats made in china, dont you think?

I came across something that I found was pretty funny today while I was working. One of my mb quart shipments came in for subs, pwe 304's to be exact.

Well fosgate bought them out and on each of my subs a sticker was placed that said, "Made in USA" lol. And on the front of the box it reads German Engineering, I dont know if mb quart was ever made in germany and imported here?

any1 know?

I think Clarion is American...well, not sure if they're made in the USA... and they make everything though other than their head units I don't think they make anything worthy of rave reviews.
Their head units are made overseas. I can't say for sure on the rest of their stuff, but I would suspect it is made overseas as well.

MB Quart is German, but over the years, some of their stuff has been made elsewhere. Also, you could have the design/engineering done in Germany and have the product actually made somewhere else.

Alpine...you can build a whole system with them, from HU's, to amps, to speakers/components, to subs, etc. You really can't do that with many companies.
RF, Eclipse, Clarion,Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood could also give you a complete system.

If I had to build a system with just 1 brand though, I would take Eclipse.

You are right though, there aren't a ton of companies out there that do it all.
