The Big 3

Hi, finally found something about the 'Big 3' but I do have some questions for anyone with EXPERIENCE in this upgrade....

Here are my questions.

I see the ground to my chassis. I can replace that. But there is also another larger wire coming off the battery... Do I do anythign with that? Or just leave it there, and connected?

My alternator to battery possitive. I see where the wire comes off the alternator, I do not see where it goes after that as its into a bundle of wires that are wrapped. I disconnect that completely and run a new wire (fused) from that terminal on the alternator to the battery +? OR Do I leave the other one on there too?

Then I assume where i connect the chassis to the engine, I just replace the wire that already does that?

Thanks!

no i think u should start your car and pour water all over the wires and then touch the wires

Anyway, you dont need to replace or disconnect any of your wiring. Just add on to it.

Like ^they^ said; just add to your existing wires. Don't forget to fuse the alt to batt+ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

What size fuse do you use for this application? The same as the stocker, just inline?

Don't forget to fuse the alt to batt+

A friend says I don't need to fuse my alt + to bat.....everyone here says I do, so I will do it , but what are risks if you dont fuse it?

He also says it is unnessacary to fuse power wire at bat from amp +

he says amp has a fuse in it that is good enuff.

I want to be able to tell him why I am fusing it....ya know a good argument.

Its just extra safety, you don't *need* to do it. As for fusing teh main power wire to your amp; you don't *need* to either, but why do you think every installation kit made comes with a fuse to put near the battery?
