It's actually easier (or our military was geared towards) to fight real

armies with hard targets in lands with civilian populations with western

values. You beat them, they surrender, your done.

I don't think anyone really thinks unions are a bad thing. In the big 3's case they just need to back off a bit and learn to be more reasonable. Just look at the sh!tstorm Wallmart reigns down on their employees, I think everyone can agree they deserve one.

Just because someone in the US is underpaid to assemble the foreign components, doesn't mean sht. Does the final assembly place really mean anything? They send in parts from overseas and assemble them here. If I put the label on a gallon of milk at home, does that make it made in Illinois? Does that mean I produced it? It didn't come outta my teet. The workers in the auto plants that assemble Toyota or whatever foreign label it might be doesn't always make it made in USA. Putting the windshield wipers on for $8 an hour and low bennys has made a huge opportunity for misleading these cars as "American Made"

It was. I read an article where Ford just renamed it back to Taurus since the Taurus has more name recognition.

Which I still don't understand. Taurus had name recognition alright, as a fleet car with a crappy engine.

I was actually interested in the 500 -- right up until the point I read where it had the old Tauras engine.

Ironically, Ford put in a better engine for the next year's "500", thus putting itself in a position to completely divorce itself from the Tauras, but at the same time it adopted the old Taurus name.

It was if they never realized that one of the reasons why the 500 had such sluggish sales that first year was people did not want a Tauras.
