So I got 6ft of 1/0ga Knu Kable for the Big 3, and I came across a topic that challenged the need for the alternator to battery cable if you're still using the stock alt and batt.

Is this wire needed? The stock wire should be rated for the maximum amount of current the alternator can deliver anyways, right?

In theory. Over doing it never hurts now does it?

its just easier to do it now and if you upgrade you are good to go..

i recently questioned this also.... upgrading to 2/0 cable but 2/0 is rated at like 500 amps.... 0/4 cable is rated at????? IDK but i sure its around at least 150... which most cars are done in 4 gauge cable and their altys dont go high than 150

Yeah she's dealing with the nearly 2500wRMS pretty well, have some voltage drops at full tilt but I expected that.
