im looking to get a new head unit and cant decide which brand to go with,

i know everyone has there opinions so im just going to take a vote and go with the most votes.

don't know much about clarion

but any of the other ones are great if you get a high-end deck

lowend kenwoods and pioneers aren't that great

alpine lowend models are pretty decent, they lack in features, but not performance

and eclipse doesn't really have low, lowend, they're all quite pricey and good

pioneer premier are my favorites. also alpine, eclipse, clarion, and some of jvc's and kenwoods' upper models are good to.

x2 spend the extra cash and they all will do well..i bought my kenwood because the screen falls back instead of going forward. It all comes down to personal pref.

yeh, i know the head unit is one of the most important parst of the system and cant be looked over so im deffenetly not going with a cheap one but i dont wana spend a ton of money on like a 800 dollar eclipse,

how do you think i could make out with about 350 to 400 dollars?

ive only personally owned JVC and now I have an ALPINE and I will say that for the price, very happy with the JVC, not a ton of features, but def did the trick. I love my alpine 9855, the glide bar can be a pain while driving, but none-the-less, its a solid unit, the pioneer indash tv/dvd I had was a big waste of time, so yea, im done ratting!

I am running a vrx935vd clarion, I love it. Works great for me. Before that I have had nothing put pioneer premier, all of those are very nice too. I think the sound quality on my clarion is better though.

I have heard a higher end Eclipse and I think it sounded better than my Clarion. Also Alpine (don't think it was on there) have some really nice units.

I've been running Pioneer for almost 20 years and I've never had a noise issue.

I've had numerous Alpines, Clarions, Kenwoods, Pioneer and a couple of Eclipse, my choice right now I would pick Pioneer first, then Kenwood, then probably Clarion and then the rest. If you can honestly sit in a high end system, blindfolded, and pick out what brand of HU is in there, from the name brands, I think your accomplishing an amazing feat, and my hat is off to you.
