The Best MP3 Receiver?

What's the best MP3 Receiver out currently? Kenwood used to have the Z919 for $600, looked really good; but now Kenwood's lineup has changed entirely and alot of the other manufacturer's have their own MP3 receivers. Comparison shopping is time consuming...

I was looking at the Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 for $319 from Crutchfield...here's the specs:

detachable, fold-down face

Color Shock™ display with 67 different backlight colors

selectable green/red button illumination

CR-2 tuner

18 FM/6 AM presets

plays MP3-encoded CD-Rs and CD-RWs

decodes and displays ID-3 tag information

Sirius Satellite Radio controls (Sirius subscription, tuner, and antenna required)

System Q Sound Control

Mobile Presets adjust output for your speakers with three settings

CD/MD changer controls

wireless remote

22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels

CD frequency response 10-20,000 Hz

CD signal-to-noise ratio 105 dB

FM sensitivity 9.3 dBf

1-year warranty

My current receiver is Kenwood and I've never had a problem with it, sound is decent but not spectacular. And what about those Bazooka tubes, any good? I just need a little bass, not 2-12" or anything...

The aiwa is a little more expensive but it runs windows media, has wireless steering remote, VU Meters, Dual RCA, CDR and CDRW compatible, Fornt Aux input, and cd changer cont. same wattage as the kenwood 50x4.

Call them and you may be able to get a lower price over the phone.

I'm guessing you work for audiomallusa.com? haha... well I noticed that the Aiwa MA01 is listed at $330 on audio mall, but it's $299 on Crutchfield... comments? You're not going to tell me to call them again, are you?

if they have it buy it.

I have become friends with them over the years, They sponsored one of my trucks.

I just called them with the price of crutchfield and they said they will reduce their prices.

If you are more conf. with crutchfield go for it. They are both good companies. I have bought from crutchfield before they are just as good. But check out the prices in a few min. from audiomallusa they said they will reduce the price. they always match or beat prices if they can.

From what I understood the BEST was the Alpine 7878, if you can find one. While other decks take some time to load the mp3's, the 7878 is almost instantaneous. I haven't tested the mp3 feature on my deck, but I'm sure its pretty good. Everything else about it is.

i think they have the same Aiwa one for a little less price over at http://www.wholesaleconnection.com

very good deals over there.

I got the Kenwood KDC-MP919 Head Unit...works great, great liquid crystal display, almost wrecked my car watching the screen....a little pricey if you buy it at best buy or places like that (paid $455 on sale for mine) but you can get it on ebay or something for 300 something.

Hey Chris, thanks. Nobody other than Kenwood Kid ever comments on Kenwood products...glad to hear they actually work well. Maybe you and Kenwood Kid should talk...

the alpine 7878 is awesome, but its **** expensive too

the younger brother of it, the 7894 takes about a second to loud each mp3, which really isnt all that bad, and at a much more acceptable price
