The Best Amp

I’m not into mega power or huge bass; my objective is trying to get the best sound quality.

Tried a Alpine (I think an MRV line, 75w x 4) in 1996 and had 5-1/2 good years of service and good sound quality driving MB Quart components and a 10” JL Sub. Sorry I sold it with the car. All around, a very nice sounding amp.

Two years ago I had 3 Zapco Studio 150’s installed in my wife’s SUV. The SUV came with a factory GPS head unit so it was retained. I couldn’t believe the great SQ even using the factory head unit.

If it works for you, stay with it – Had a new system installed in my car last month. This time a good head unit and used three older model (new condition) Zapco competition 300 series amps. For my taste, these delivered awesome SQ.

Right now I am running a kenwood KFC-626 for my front 3 1/4" rockford fullranges with 1" tweets and it runs them at 100 watts a piece. I originally ran a JL W6 12" in a sealed box with the kenwood bridged running 300w and I had no complaints other than how hot it got. I tool it to thermal protect twice, Once listening to Big Booty Hoes off the friday soundtrack( cool song) and another with a boston acoustics bass test. other that that it was a pretty good amp for 150$. Right now I run a MEI da4450 ( it was MEI not VEI , Stupid design) it powers a mtx thunder 3000 and a kenwood , Both 10's, and runs them fine. It will soon run a rockford RFP1212 special edition 12" sub. I have over heated this amp running my 10's so I don't know what it will do with the 12. But good wattage for the price 600W for 10$.

I have a jl audio 500/1 class d monoblock amp pushin two 12' jl audio w3's and it pounds quite nice. I have the subs in a factory jl audio bandpass box that puts out ver y good sq. Right now the subs are wired in 4 ohm mono firing in a series. With my clarion cd deck my non fade volume goes from -6 - +6 and my bass gain from -6 - +6. I have them set at non fade -2 and bass gain -2 and they pound really nice with whatever i put in so remember jl is quality!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

RF amps are always good (and underratted in terms of output). They are very dependable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
