I used to love the Coustic amps and had all of them. This was before the u series, but that's ok because the u were still built pretty good. I'd rather had the original power logic amps, but gen 2 are just fine.

So I grabbed this one off ebay last month and it got here today. Hooked up and it runs like a top.

Price: $20

The first amp I ever owned was the first Coustic Amp, the 150. A huge black square brick. Then I owned the next generation black hexfet 380's and 190's. That's when they started to look like an amp instead of a brick. Then I owned ten of every model of the silver Power Logic amps. Then these Power Logic u series were released and I wasn't paying much attention to them anymore at this point since AutoTek had the "new" Mean Machines out to replace the grey BTS series and everybody was paying attention to the Autotek cheater amps because nothing else in the industry except rockford had low transient reponse that punched your gut that hard. Lesser brands like Volcano and LA Sound were trying to fill the lower end market and there was a big divider between the top and the bottom.

I'm glad you posted, I knew I was missing a search term in my hording pile of awesome that building in my closet. Rodek, how could I forget Rodek. Oh I know, I never owned one...... I just drooled from the window. Pricey power even for the good stuff it was considered pricey.

Rodek was good stuff! I especially liked the "Linear Tilt Control" feature on their amps (224 CI on up). It was a single adjustment pot that when turned counter clockwise, acted like a -3 db 90 hz high pass crossover. When turned clockwise, it was a 37hz 12 db bass boost. If you score an old Rodek amp, let me know. I have an extra User manual.

Nice GS Redline sub you have there! The Coustic 460u should sound really nice. Love the HexFet design of those amps!
