Testing voltage on RCA outs

My buddy lost signal to his amp but when i test the RCA's there is no voltage output (back of deck) AVH5000. Im testing on all DCV settings and nothing shows, deck failure ?

how are you testing? need to be AC volts IIRC

center = +

outside = -

ok tried ACV 10a lowest setting got nothing (reads (0.00)

AC volts (VOLTS not amps) 0-20 or whatever is lowest

ok got some signal but its on the 200k setting (ithinkits DCV tho) so at least i know there is signal, then i tried to plug an ipod directly into the amp and nothing at all , so i think the amp is dust of some type

using a y rca cable, yes?

if yes, use same DMM to test voltage of ipod outputs. to see if you are doing it right....

should be 2-7v (normal HU voltages) AC

pretty sure its the amp, i can see some signal from the deck now and the ipod test works on my truck but not his so . . .
