Testing "SA-12" Prototype

153.3 dB @ 47 Hz so far

I'll clamp the power shortly... but I don't think it is really all that much all things considered. HU is at -10 on sub control -- as far down as it goes. I had it at -4 to put up the 154.1 with the single Nightshade 15"

Very nice numbers, especially for daily oriented subs. Now stop holding back and give em some juice!
They are fine thermally - dust caps aren't even warm... but I am right at excursion limits. They are MOVING //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

---

Just clamped power... 4840 watts total power on my clamp. So about 1200 per sub on a burp to do that score -- this run was 153.4 dB as well, a tenth higher //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want 2 of them..
how much could these handle sealed in 3cubes?

edit: I thought i herd these were like $160ea?
They were just on pre-sale for $175 and that ended. I am considering doing an introductory sale as well now that they are in at a similar price.

PS: I'd do 2 cubes sealed total. They get 0.707 in 1.1 cubes.

If you play these at their mechanical limits all day aren't you begging for a torn spider or something?
Have you torture tested them in that regard?

-William
I don't play them all day at mechanical limits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just burps.

At 600 RMS as rated you have plenty of play room hence the rating //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

PS: Been testing prototypes since last year (see original post in this thread from November) so we've done some torture!

So what would be a safe # to run these daily (dont say 600rms lol)

Also have you ever ripped a spider on a burp or in general?

Have you tested them with crazy power on music?

Lets see... I did mess up a triple joint with an SAZ-3000D on 18v per sub playing music under tuning. I dripped a bit of glue in and fixed that one, though, Brandon is still using it. That count ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Actually ripping a spider on these would also be VERY hard... spider is very tough. You would break glue first before tearing the spider material.

Daily power figures are enclosure dependent -- it would be VERY difficult to thermal one of these without hitting a mechanical limit first.

WOW WHAT CRAPPY SUBS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif:veryhapp:

Glad to clear that up, those things are very sexy props for a good sub!

How do they sound sq wise?

If someone is smart with it and using an appropriate SSF suffice to say the 600-watt rating is conservative.

I think they sound great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But I did design them... so just keep your eye out and people should be getting them soon!
