Testing Ohm of subwoofer question

I just received back an old dual 2 ohm FI BL I use to own years ago.

I went to test the coils for resistance to make sure I was wired correctly. I measured each coil and got 2.5ohms. When wired like you would to get to 1 ohm, my multimeter said 1.5 ohms.

Is something wrong? do I need to clean connections?

From a newb of subwoofers, but a part time electrician, cleaning the terminals and new wires could very likely be the cure to your problem.

That means you can subtract .7 from your readings the coils would be 1.8 each and .8 wired together probably really .9 sub should be fine but you might need new probes soon.
