is there any way for me to test my car stock altenator to tell what amps its at? i drive a 96 cadillac eldorado ETC n i just need to know what amp it is

Just call autozone or a dealer and ask them.Other wise you'll need a DMM that reads DC current.

Put a DC clamp meter on it and stress the system past the Alt's max draw abelity.

Put a load on it (skeet, skeet) and clamp it.

Its a factory alt.Just look it up.Why waste time???

Just looked it up. Your alt should be 140 amp.

ok 140 is what i thought and have seen online so i figured that was it, just wanted to check, im going to be running two Ed.nine1's stapped and a Mach 5 SPL 15 so i just needed to know what exactly i had to do to my electrical to push it
