Testing a new headunit

Well i just got a DDX6019 for free from a buddy. looks good so far no damage, came in box with remote and all. I just wanted to test it but instead of hooking it up to my computers PSU can i just take this charger i had that says input ac120v output dc12v 200ma. I plugged in a cold cathode light that takes 12 and it seems to work fine just wanna double check here

pop the hood on the car and touch the 12 volt wire to + and the ground to - and turn it on.

well im just trying to do something indoors and if that charger idea would be fine then it would be better then taking out my computers psu just to get situated with the head unit and learn everything about it
