Anyone tried using a test tone CD to set crossover points?

I was thinking of burning a CD with maybe 5-second test tone tracks ranging from say, 50 to 150Hz in 5Hz increments. It sounds like a relatively easy way to identify and eliminate peaks and valleys and smooth out the response curve in the subbass/midbass range?

for LPF just play the test tone u want to set the crossover to. turn it all the way up and then turn down until a digital multimeter decreases to half of what the voltage up with the LPF all the way up. do the same thing with the HPF except youll have the HPF all the way down and youll go up until the voltage drops to half of what it originally was.

That is the perfect spot to do that. OEM sub may interfere with the new one and cause cancellation.

Do you intend to drive around playing test tones? If your intention is to play music, you should be using music you intend to play to dial in...

But then you could just use the volume knob to rather than pay for earplugs.
