Terrible FM reception on system, possible problems??

I have had 2 headunits, the pioneer p860 and the panasonic 9700, currently using the 9700 since the p860's ground took a dump on me. regardless of whichever one was in the car, however, the FM reception is simply terrible. i can pick up only one good station cleanly. can anyone help me on this? thanks!

do u have a motorized antenna

When i got mine installed they forgot to plug it in, i was to retarted to loook behind me at my antenna to see if it was up

Just the first thing came to mind. its prob not but hope it helps

ya, the antenna is motorized and it goes up and its plugged in the back of the HU, so thats not it, thansk though!

Check in the passenger side kick panel for an antenna connection. There's commonly one there in a GM and if it's come apart or just loose it will cause FM problems. Also check and make sure the antenna connection at the power antenna itself is tight. Finally, try replacing your GM antenna adapter at the head unit; I've seen a few problems with defective antenna adapters.
