Audiowizard, a newb on here won my sub on Ebay about 3 days ago. Then proceeds to tell me that he wont have the money to buy it for a week. A day later I see it for sale on here, with my pictures and everything asking 300 dollars for it, which later came down to 150.00, and he told everyone he paid like 130.00 for it. I am not mad that he tried to make some money, its free enterprise, but how can you try and sell something that you dont even own, havent paid for and its still in my possession.

if I am out of line then fine, but I dont do business that way.

he didnt have the money to begin with, he was trying to make the money here and then buy it with the money he "sold" it with.

id file a non paying with ebay.

i sell stuff I don't have all the time.
It is called selling short.

You sell stocks at xxx price and buy the back at a later time with xxx funds at sss price.
Yeah but you borrow the shares, and typically have to assets to cover and a margin account, which means money and credibility. Funny, but not the came thing.

well if he was on the stock market he would be playing the margins, but I doubt he has the skill to play in the real world so in that case I would think that he is a little on the shady side. As far as I am concerned he needs to be kissing some serious %&* right now, because the only people that are going to buy it in time for him to pay know about his game.

It is sahdy I guess, but not all together wrong.

I would call him on it.

OTOH, I sold an amp for roughly $400 and the buyer asked me what I thought about him reselling on craigslist for $600.

He paid $400 and resold for $600....everyone was happy. But he did have the amp and did pay me....so I guess that is a bit different.

If he didn't pay within a couple days, I would call him out as a scammer, trying to pully a rodney peay or whatever.

Also, he does really know if the items that he has on "MARGIN" even work, does he.
The buyer assumes that he does.

It is my experience that in the car audio world, one rarely recieves close to what he paid for any particular item.

In the market, he would lose his shirt.
