Alright, this problem has been pissing me off royally! I'd have to say it happened to me at least 3 times now, but I'm able to fix the problem right away. Except for now! The problem was, all of a sudden my subs would stop working...It would happened, and I would go instantly to the amp, and take out the remote wire, and then just place it back, and tada my subs worked again. Now it happened again and my little solution doesn't work anymore....WHAT THE HELL WOULD IT BE NOW????????

Thanks much!

tried the ground, it doesn't seem to help....i'm totally clueless right now on what's going on....I've checked my power cable connection on the battery and that is just fine. I also took my ground connection off and retightened it. I've got the red light to come on, but then it goes away. All my connections are great i think....but what the hell is going on?

yea i sanded it down, i placed my ground on the trunk lock...for the longest time now my ground was always good right there...but like i said before, sometimes my subs would just stop working, and i would remove the remote wire, then place back onto the amp, and the subs would work again.

i'm sorry dude... but could u explain that in Leman's terms...i understand the overcurrent, but what is impedence below the amplifier's tolerance???? Ok?? So, what am I going to have to do?

can you descirbe how you wired the subs? what subs are they, how many voice coils do you have and what impedence are they? If you wired them at an ohm load below what the amp can handle, they may work for a short period of time.. until the amp overheats and goes into protection mode.

sorry....but these are the specs on my subs.....AUDIOBAHN

Model AWC10T

10” PERFORMER SUBWOOFER

60 oz. Strontium Magnet

EPDM Rubber Surround

Molded, Texture Injected Poly Cone

2” 4-Layer ASV Voice Coil

so ur telling me, if i have my subs hooked up wrong...that they would work for like 2 months which they have, but once in a while they would stop working and then work again....so if there hooked up wrong, now the amp is in protection mode and won't work at all????? So, I would have to wire them the correct way, and they should work?

depends like what john said you may of toasted you amp or might even fried the voice coils you jsut gonna have to pull the subs out and check them and pull the back cover off of your amp and see if anythang looks burnt around the channels and connectors

It is very possible that you did fry either the amp or the VC's on the subs. More likely the subs if they cut in and out every once and a while. Because if you toasted the amp... the subs wouldn't work at all.

Uhhh...

Did I read this wrong?

It would happened, and I would go instantly to the amp, and take out the remote wire, and then just place it back, and tada my subs worked again.
I've got the red light to come on, but then it goes away.
Protect has nothing to do with it. A LOT of amps will "protect" briefly before turning on. My Jensen and PA amps do. It sounds to me like you just need to get a better remote line. Try attaching a small wire from your positive line to your remote line, this will give it a "constant on" signal, and will bypass your remote wire. If it works, you just need a new remote wire.

Good luck.
