Tear in Sub!!!!

With that surround it seems a little more complicated, but I recently had 100lbs of equipment fall on one of my Atlas12s (yeah, procrastinated on getting grills!) and left a 1" tear across the foam surround...

I used contact cement (had a can left from carpeting some enclosures) and left it overnight. You canNOT pull that seam apart! It's very flexible but strong. I got the suggestion from BCAE. Some use silicone which may be better for your tear or may not. If you do, I'd recommend leaving the sub out till it cures just to be safe...

actually that sub is about a year old and it has been in more than one vheicle. I used to go offroading in my old truck alot. so back off of my nutz. i dont like putting solution on the sub to clean it so i just leave it alone. But what is gonna work the best? ca glue? epoxy? silicone?

the point i was trying to make is your not taking care of your subs..... if u woulda took care of em in the first place then there wouldnt be a tear in it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif cleaning the sub wont hurt it.. it will make it look better but its ur subs and my OPINION

and i go offroading alot too but i still wipe my subs down when they get dusty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif just some info man....... but if i was u id use the ca glue... it'll hold like a mother and you can seal the seam good enough to where u wont even tell it had a whole

I already fixed it. Thanks guys. I used some crazy glue and that worked well i added a thin layer of silicone over it for added protection. It should be good. We will see tomorrow! lets see how it stands up to the new box!!!
