i have competed in years. i honestly don't know if they still have a team. Id like to see the truck upgraded and rebuilt fa sho..

three iterations of the beast using 3 broncos were built, first was the ppi using 32 pc2350's and 64 flat piston pros, second was the kicker using 48 s10l7d's and 48 zr1000's, both of these were built into the first bronco.

the second bronco was used when they rebuilt the team kicker beast, which was revamped to use the newer series l7's.

the 3rd beast was built from the ground up with a new bronco for the jbl/panasonic beast using 6 15" gti subs and the new gti 6000 amps.

alma retired in 2005

the team gates beast in it's jbl form along with all the team gates shwag and trailer was sold by the original team gates to my friend ryan poundstone and his partner/s and found it's new home and workshop in assumption illinois, to which they brought it back to it's original team gates condition as a show piece that was featured at the 2014 slamology to honor the legacy of our dearly beloved 'audio grandma' that completely changed the audio competition scene for the better.

after a few years of trying to scrape up the dough to keep touring, it became extremely costly to ryan and company to find the time and the means to do so. they had to throw in the towel and put it up for sale.

luckily, there was a buyer extremely interested in keeping the legacy going. it was sold to my other friend, paul a pierce of pierce audio products and it is currently undergoing a big rebuild to feature his own products at it's new home in the pacific northwest..

team gates is no more, but the memory will live on as pierce will still be honoring alma and team gates at shows using the vehicle to showcase his awesome products. i dont know the specifics, but i have a feeling he'll have all the history and pictures of the beat through the years on display.

Now, THIS is a post i can get behind!! Thanks for sharing this info!! Im glad that the beast is in good hands and plans are underway for something to preserve the legacy! Thanks man!! I tried looking online and i saw so much stuff, it was hard to filter thru the old stuff to find something current.

Tell me youre kidding dude!!! Alma Gates, the world SPL record holder for many years with the PPI ford bronco. It had 48 PC-21400's ( i think that was the amp) and 48 of the the flat piston pro subs in a dual compression horn setup
