I haven't searched in a while, but I remember a year or two ago the companies that make sheet music books you can buy in stores were filing lawsuits against online tab websites that give them out for free for copywrite infringement and causing them to lose sales. That really pissed me off.I bought a book though......and for learning songs just use tabs online
What this guys speaks is the truth. Learning by yourself can be tough. I played the bass for 8 or so years and have always been terrible becuase I never took lessons or had any help; I just played by myself. I eventually went out and bought lessonbooks and starting at music 101 learning proper notes/chords/etc and started to truly understand music beyond just replicating it. Last year I pawned my bass though. You should get lessons...teaching yourself is so hard. There are people who have been tryin to teach themselves for 10 years and they never truly learn. Just spend the extra money and get some help.
Hey bro , you don't need a teacher. You just need to be dedicated. First thing you do is learn all of your basic chords (A,B,C etc) . Then learn Bar chords. Then start learning your sharp and flat chords etc. It is a learning process. Scales REALLY help for finger speed, and for learning your notes in general. They also help you brainstorm solos. Start learning the major scales, Then learn your minor scales, then learn blue's scales (pentatonic scales). See how this goes? Just keep progressing. Believe me I know. Use that website for help, there is a ton of stuff that will help you there.broke college kid with no money...hence the borrowing of the guitar and cant/ wont pay for lessons....thats why i asked about a site.
