I just did something that gave me the answer that I needed.
I modeled the AV15-X, and the LMS-R with my dual Infinity 12" setup, and kept in mind what I like and don't like about the frequency response from my 12s.
My 12s, with the "low q" insert, have great upper bass extension but they don't have enough low-end for me. So I don't need a sub that is any louder up top than my 12s, I just need something that is equally loud up top and has a few dbs more output 50hz and below.
WINisd showed my 12s having more output than the LMS-R from 60hz and up. The LMS-r basically took a nosedive on the graph immediately after 68-70hz, lol. But the LMS-R had signifcantly more low-end than my 12s.
The graph showed the AV15-X having about 1.7db more output than my 12s @50hz, and that advantage lessened as the frequency rose until the AV and my 12s were dead even @80hz. The AV's low-end output advantage increased as the frequency decreased and reached 3db more output @30hz.
So the AV15-X looks to be exactly what I need. It's slightly louder than my 12s on the top end and significantly louder than my 12s on the low-end.
That should sound pretty balanced in my car.
Btw, the output was measured using a 600 watt power source, which is the minimum that my amp will put out at full blast. At maximum SPL / sub's rated power, the AV's output advantage increased a bit more.
The AV15-X it is then. Time to make my purchase, FINALLY //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
