I don't see why it can't be the sub, because they're selling the 12" DB-500 for only $119

because it says "VMP" which is the passive radiator.

Thing is I dont think the price increase was about increasing their profit, its more of getting out of the red into the black, b/c i'f they've been loosing money on selling the products to the general public, I doubt their was any profit to begin with, hence the drastic change in pricing and moving back to bulk orders. The overhead per speaker sold is alot higher selling then individually rather thank in bulk, not to mention operational costs, salaries, shipping etc. So I understand why they have to do what they're doing. I'm sure if you ran a company that was losing money, you'd make these changes at the risk of upseting some customers for the overall financial integrity of the company

if thats the case, how come eclipse has fallen off since TC stopped making their woofers, and why whenever someone sells an eclipse on the forum, everyone asks if it was one built by TC. I'd like to know what build house builds superior products to TC for less than the direct sales prices?

As far as superior products are concerned, there are lots of companies that make products that are better and worse than TC. But if your question is what buildhouse can make products for less than TC can make them....lots in the Orient.
