TC sounds epic vs. Dayton audio titanic mk3

Anybody heard both of these to compare them? I am looking for a sub to complete my soundstage and was looking at these. The Dayton ho or hf was a option as well as the ssa dcon. I think i would like to run either the tc sounds or the dayton though. Opinions will be welcome especially if you have heard or used either of these subs.

Dayton Audio TIT280C-4 10" Titanic Mk III Subwoofer 4 Ohm

TC Sounds Epic 10" DVC Subwoofer

Also is the epic worth the extra money over the dayton?

What are your goals? What power do you have? Space requirements?

Based on those two subs assuming you would have proper requirements for both power and space wise Id pick the TC. In my experience TC has an abnormally low distortion compared to other subs. My Evo compared to even my Image Dynamics sounds a lot cleaner. It was even weird at first, but you get used to it.

I don't really want or need to run over 500w rms. I want a small box probaly just go with sealed so I still have plenty of trunk space.

So, the tc sounds is worth the extra $ over the Dayton then? ^^**** dude 4 18"s? I bet those 5200's pound! From what i have read so far it seems the tc is the best 10" sub under $200 for sq and that I can get that is in the rms range I would like to be in. Everything i read was pretty good about it, I just wonder why more people are not running their subs.

hard to describe. it's just smoother. if you can hear an lms driver listen to it and you'll know what i mean. it's not as pronounced on the epic, but it's there.

this might be a horrible description, but i compare it to putting your hear next to the cone at low volumes vs. listening to it far away from the speaker at high volumes. it's the same relative volume, but with your ear next to the cone it sounds better

80% agree that it sounds better, but some people actually prefer the sound of "less" quality drivers. it's all preference

I think i may get one , but i wanna build a custom box for it to fit in a certain area of my trunk. Gonna have to get some help with that. I have the skills to build just dont know how to build to the specs i need for the area i want it in. It says it works in sealed or ported. wich would you recomend for a sq setup on this sub?

most people say sealed for sound quality. but if you listen to music like r&b, hip hop, rap, or techno and dub step i'd go ported. for a 10 i'd try around 1.2 cubes tuned to 30hz. should sound shaweet

Thats bogus. You can get SQ from a ported enclosure as well if its built properly.

As for the TC drivers sounding different. Its because most are a low inductance and low distortion driver so they dont sound as "muddy" if you will. Like I said there was a clear difference even between my Image Dynamics subs and a TC driver. They sound very crisp and clean without that extra distortion that you get from alot of other woofers.
