I'm looking to do some 5200's in a daily/comp setup but mostly daily. do they sound alright on music? with that much motor force im assuming the gap is tight and it might be more of an spl sub. but then i look at how low the fs is and the rep tc sounds has for being sq based

each would be an 18 in around 4 cubes tuned to 30-32hz off 2000w

Your gap is tight but you don't see me having any problems with it on a daily basis.
thats a good point lol

well tc recommended them at 3.6 tuned to 34 for the 18's. so if i go a little bigger and tune a little lower i figure it will be more musical. just don't wanna bottom out the coil, hopefully 2k per will do them well

To keep it musical a smaller box is a better choice. The high motor force means it'll be peaky unless the alignment is small and ineffecient, that'll knock down some of your gain around tuning. Tune low, use a VERY big port and you'll have a killer SQl setup.

This. Port length is going to be mighty long though. 4ft^3 for the chamber and 4ft^3 for the port? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know these things are impossible to port right lol. I'm trying to get 3 or 4 in an explorer, but right now can only get around 60^2 " of port with a 30 hz tune per woofer :/
