I fail.
So, I've been wanting to try a tline(qw) for a while because I am fascinated with efficiency and what not, and I bought these little eD 3.6's just to try different box designs with sooooo....
I don't know the resonant frequency of my car, but my current box kills at 37, 38ish so I decided to tune to there. It's higher than the 28hz Fs of these little subs, but it also makes the line little shorter and it's not far off from eD's recommended tuning of 35. I say it's a horn type thingy because the ports step up in size even though they're not tapered. Each port is tuned to 37hz and I had to play with the chamber volume to get the box's resonant frequency to 37 also. It's 6.9ft of line which puts the t-line tuning to 37ish too. Anyway, on to the pics....
All cut up and ready to get glued. This is my first screwless box.
Coming together nicely.
45's in the corners and 3/4" roundover on all the port edges. I may have cut my terminal posts a little long. Lol.
The ol' spare tire clamp trick. Yes, I'm from the South.
All buttoned up and ready for a listen. It's pretty short as you can see so I can still get my golf clubs in the trunk if I put them on top of the box. My original plan was for a double baffle but I got lazy. Hell, I didn't even let the glue dry before I put it in the car.
Drum roll, please..... The results.
That was at 40hz. It was high 136's at 37, 38hz but 40hz seemed to be the number. Not bad. Not bad at all for some little mini subs in my first shot at a quarter wave.
Thanks to Lance for the TL time.
