Taramps

I see Brazilian is the new boner. Huge amounts of power for cheap is always good. I was curious and started looking around thinking their low wattage amps would be dirt cheap. Wrong!

HD8000- $900 rated at almost 10k @ 13.8v- super cheap

HD800- $310 rated at almost 1k @ 13.8v- expensive for 1k

I know it isn't as easy as well this amp does this so it should cost X amount... But I was expecting maybe $150-200 for a 800watt model if an 8000 watt model is only $900.

I guess us lower budget, lower power guys don't get to experience the Brazilian power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I haven't read too much in to them. I know they use a different design and I think I remember some Brazilian amps from a while back had durability issues also. My main thing was for smaller power levels, you're better off with Chinese crap as they can make a decent 800-1K amp for cheap.

10k worth of Korean or Chinese power would cost well over double what the HD8000 cost.

Yeah price point tips in brazilians favor when you start going past the 5k rms range. If less than that, its totally not worth it IMHO. New design w/e I still think they can rattle apart anytime and still as picky as ever. Any big amp with that much heat going through them is ticking time bomb but hey, i like playing with fire with my banda 7k haha.

Yeah it seems like once you get up there in wattage, they get cheaper and cheaper to double power. Kinda odd.

Pm me if you are seriously wanting one. Wayyy cheaper than the prices you see. 100% legit with full warranty from an autherised dealer.
I have 4 Taramps amps now.
I'm not actually in the market to buy right now. Just looking around for options in the 500-1k rms range. Appreciate it though. If I do decide to spend the money soon, I'll hit you up.

Okay sounds good. My dealer doesn't try to profit $100s off each sale so his prices are a lot cheaper if not the cheapest around.

Dont mount it on top of your box and you will be fine. But I wouldn't mount ANY amp like that.

Biggest thing to look out for running Taramps is

Don't run above 15.0 volts.

Don't run below 12.0 volts.

Dont wire BELOW rated ohm loads.

Yea for a 10k amp they do cost a lot more but my twisted sounds 1.8 that does well over 2k at one ohm I got brand new for $272... Solid zenon Korean amp way better than that hd800 will ever be

I hear those are nice. Wish I had 225 to preorder a 1.3k. Bet it does at least 1500 and that's a hell of a deal even if its 1300. Priorities though. :/

IF you go through a dealer.. then who are you?

A customer selling to other customers?

This isn't correct.

Can run up to 15.9v but the loaded voltage cannot exceed 14.4v while clipped.

If running over 14.9v, the signal amplitude must start to be attenuated as well.

Amplifier line doesn't have protection from putting out too much power so their is a limit to how much AC voltage and current is too much based on DC voltage and signal amplitude.

Amplifiers are safe down to around 11.0v. 10.8v is the lowest i'd recommend.

Shut off is 10.5v

Mean failure is at 10.2v
