taramps hd 5k worth it?

i have no idea what the condition is since the picture is only the box.

i also dont know what the specs are but always curious about these amps

im running cab1600 on stock electrical

if i buy the taramps and run it would it be better or the same on stock electrical ? or of i get a battery in the back?

Taramps seem hit or miss. You either get pile of fvcking shlt or u get a good one... any amp over 2k u should have electrical upgrades. Do not run 5k on stock electrical.

I am pretty sure you can buy a new one for about a 100 bucks more and have a waranty on it ? I aint really down with used amps tho. I got to many junk ones not saying that ones junk but who knows ? And I would get another battery at least.

are you saying certain series of taramps are bad or are you saying 2 identical amps of the same series 1 of the 2 are bad?

Esp when they can be bad new , I got my HD15000 and hooked it up and music played for about 2 min low volume and I walked around the truck to turn it up and the smoke was already let out lol ! Warranty got me another one.

i wanted to steer away from my cab1600 and was always curious on the Brazilian amps.

sad that a little more spending i couldve got the skar rp2000 for less actually since shipping from caraudiobargain was 100 so the amp was actually 300 and the skar is 220 free shipping....

So far I been really happy with my taramps 15k and I am about to drop it down to .5 ohm and see how that goes ?

Pretty much same thing happened to me. Hooked up my 15k.. slowly turning the volume up and it stopped playing and wasn't in protect. The light was still blue, then sent some crazy signal through my woofers like high pitch and then the amp blew up.... then I hooked up my second hd 15k and slowly turned up the music and it would just go into protect before anything even got loud. Lol this was wired at 1ohm...

Then I put my sound stream 6000.1 in and it plays just fine, I put in a Memphis 1000d and it plays just fine, I put a taramp back in there and protect mode... I sent both my taramps back and files a claim with paypal for a full refund. Homie don't play around when it comes to car audio... i did everything correctly, didn't wire below 1ohm, don't clip and the amp still protects....

One blew up.. one would just protect once u turned the volume up and before it would even get loud. I might of had a 145db out of them... lol

Hd15k same sails at a soundstream t6000.1 which does about 2k power.

guess thats why they ended the hd 15ks lines and all their new amps are all bass series amps.



Mines work fine is is louder head to head than my tfe which clamped 6.5k after rise, but i'm rather hesitant to recommend HD lines to others now due to what you went through Nate. Especially when they recently changed their warranty from fix anything to just one free repair.... that ***** @ss
