Taco Bell

I have a hard time believing they use Grade A beef at any of the chains you mentioned. Unless "A" stands for "***" maybe.
Grocery stores usually carry Grade A & B. & I know for a fact that Texas Roadhouse uses Grade A for their steaks. The hamburgers might be Grade B, but I don't know.

Honestly I had never even heard of Texas Roadhouse before this thread. Just googled, and they have several outlets in Mass. I'm pretty leery of chain restaurants, though, so it's not likely I'll be visiting soon.

So you never eat out? Almost all restaurants are chains. Texas Roadhouse rocks.

waiting for stupid responses to eat out......

Not sure if you're pulling my chain about most restaurants being chains or not, but yes I eat out often. I cooked professionally for about 12 years, mostly in upscale joints, then worked at a small boutique bakery before I went to law school. Texas Roadhouse is not a place I would go unless someone I was with wanted to go there. Don't mean any offense, BTW, I just have relatively high standards for restaurant food.

On another note, I lived in North Carolina when I was a kid, and we would occasionally make the trek from the Raleigh area to have Sunday dinner at Parker's Barbecue in Wilson (?). Carolina barbecue is the best, IMHO. Homemade, though, never had decent BBQ in a chain.

Yeah, I've ate there before. We ate at a BBQ place in Memphis last year & it's the best I've ever had in my life. I can't remember what the restaurant was called but it was like a mile from Graceland.

I don't go out to restaurants often, I'd rather grill something myself. Roadhouse is similar to Outback or Long Horn.

I grill *a lot*, all year 'round. Rain, snow, sleet, whatever, I'm out there. Charcoal only, though; no gas grill. And no starter fluid (leaves an aftertaste). I use a charcoal chimney to start the coals. I'm sure I sound like a royal pain in the a**, but I got ruined by hanging out with swishy types who know really know how to cook.

Just thought of a chain I like: California Pizza Kitchen. So there.
Never heard of it. Only restaurant I really like is Red Lobster. Other than that I prefer something grilled or mom/grandma's homemade cooking. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Knew a lady who got sick because some guy pissed on her steak at Texas Roadhouse, guess she should not have sent it back twice? I was never impressed with Texas Roadhouse........
I guess it just varies from restaurant to restaurant. Here we have Texas Roadhouse, Long Horn, Outback, LoneStar, Chili's, & about 100 other restaurants. Roadhouse is about the best.

Same thing happened to a lady @ Outback here last summer. She kept complaining about her steak & got sick later that night, had to go to the emergency room. They tested her leftovers to see if it was something she ate & it had piss in it.

Do yourself a favor sometime and eat at a good (not necessarily fancy) seafood restaurant at the coast. A place where the fish comes in fresh, not frozen. The closer to the pier where the fish boats tie up, the better. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I've ate at dozens of restaurants along the coast, from NC to Florida.. My favorite is a small place called Jim's @ the pier. It's about 30 mins north of Myrtle Beach & it's amazing, they are always busy though. Usually have to wait 1-2 hrs to be seated.

For what it is, I enjoy Red Lobster.

They actually opened one in Hyannis about 10 years ago. I went just because I had never been to one. It struck me as being *way* too expensive for the quality level of the food. Plus, me and the mrs. were the only ones there under 300 lbs. Needless to say, it didn't last very long, even in Hyannis.
