okay so after 10+ years my low/mid grade Craftsman quit on me, motor is fried. b/c of the age, can't get a replacement motor (atleast that's what I was told). I am looking to find something to hold me over for a little while (

i was looking at that unit, it's like $400. how's the fence on it? does it hold a true cut all the time or most?

Yeah, fence is great. Very solid, holds true at all times. Actually, the fence was the reason I chose that saw over many others at that price point, now that I think about it.

You stumped me so I had to look it up. RIGID TS3650, and I found this nifty review of it.

like looks like a nice saw i have a old craftsman but still works great and is worm drive.

i have a Craftsman table saw - twas a gift so i'm not complaining. the fence needed some TLC to be true, and you can't straddle the table-extension. So i had to make a fence-shim to stay true in that small range. A nicer table should have perfect alignment of table and extensions.

I use to be a vendor for HD and the full retail is 499 but since I know so many ppl they are willing to give me an "open box" price of 349.

only read mickey mouse reviews nothing worth reading, I just read that review and am very impressed (more than before). have you built boxes with it? how even do the cuts come out when test fitting?

You would be crazy not to grab that saw for $349. I paid full price and I don't regret it a bit.

the reason why is that I just put out money to replace house AC unit, trying to hold off a bit on another tool purchase over $100.
