hey guys, the last couple weeks my system hasnt been working at all. i figured it was the remote wire coming loose from my amp, but after reasuring that wasnt the problem, i checked behind the deck(alpine 9813) to double check all the connections. well the sub pre-out was disconnected, but that helped nothing. i have no music coming from my sum and comps which are powered by my exile 600.4. also my rear fill isnt playing anything which is only powered by the deck... i have a feeling the source of the problem is my headunit. the deck turns on and functions properly, except the buttons are all delayed (ie. i have to press the tuner button around 4 times for it to change only once)... i hate having no real system, expecially no music at all.. its driving me crazy! if anyone has an idea let me know.. or tell me if im not making any sence

ive never had to deal with something like this before... and sorry ahead of time for sounding like an idiot... do i want to check for a blown fuse under the hood, or the fuse on the amp?

i checked the fuse by the battery, and it looks fine.. would the only way to check to fuse be to try it with a brand new one? and also, the reply just above makes sence because why else would the rear fill not be working?? idunno guys, im clueless

im gona have to wait till the morning to test the fuse. but i have a feeling all my problems are from the deck... since the rear speakers aren't working from the head unit power... and also the deck itself has been acting weird. i pressed the open button to see if a cd was in the unit, and it opened fine... but it wouldnt close. it made the normal beep sound but just stayed open. after 10 attempts i turned off the car, and restarted.. thats the only way the faceplate would close. i was thinking about going to a shop to test the deck to see if power is actually being sent from the preouts. i hope the deck isnt the problem because it cost me too much to only work for 1 1/2 years, and the warranty is a few months past

Is there a reset button? Have you tried disconnecting the headunit's wiring harness, turning the unit on to purge any stored charge - (CMOS trick for stubborn PCs), and reconnecting it?

i tried the above method of reconnecting the headunit.. everything's still the same. i think i may have to send the headunit into alpine for an explanation and a quote for fixing the problem..

Yeah, if all else fails, something mysterious is going on.

No output from the preamp outs?

No output from the onboard amp?

Erratic behavior / button response?

Maybe it touched a Type R at the factory ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
