System sub choice

Hey guys.. New here. Just need as much help as possible choosing a good sound quality sub. The system that I had in mind to build:

HU: Clarion, Eclipse, Alpine or Pioneer

AMP: HiFonics amp most likely the BX1500D (going for the price and quality)

I need help choosing a good sounding 12" sub.. I'm going more for sound quality, I listen to Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, etc... I don't want to take up too much trunk space or spend too much money.

Any sub recommendations would be appreciated. I've been reading about the RE subs and the ED ones any other good SQ subs with a good price?? Which ones should I choose from those companies??

IDMAX are awesome subs if you are limited on space, they are built specifically for smaller spaces. if you are super tight on space consider a shallow mount sub. just about every company has these, you will have to check the reviews out. everyone here will reccomend a pair of RE 8"s. so do I. very nice setup that will sound as loud if not louder than a single 12". nice choice of amp. i'd go eclipse or pioneer for the h/u.

Will the two RE 8's be able to hit the low notes as good as one 12??? I like well defined low bass.. I'm looking for good SQ not really the SPL.. thanks for the reply

A few more details of the space I'm working with..

Car: BMW 318i 4 door

The box size that I was looking towards is around 1 cuft, I don't want to take up too much trunk space. The box will also be a sealed enclosure, and I will be firing the sub into the cabin through the ski hole.

maybe like an eclipse 9122 titanium 12". or maybe like a xxx 12" or something.
