system intall noob question

whats up guys, this is my first install and im stuck at one step involving the remote turn on..i know which wire it is(i found the blue and white wire) but dont know exactly how to connect it to the remote wire. do i have to tap solder into it? or is it okay to just cut it, strip it, and crimp it into the new wire.

its all how thorough you want to be man, soldering is of course better but yea you can get away with just crimping them.

i appreciate the replies..but i guess my question is more along the lines of..should i cut the existing wire and connect the end of that to the remote turn on OR tap into the existing wire with the remote turn on?
