.. i need to upgrade my stock speakers and wanted to see what do u guys think i should get for my sound needs. i listen to trance/techno music and sometimes hip hop. help me find the best components for inside the car!.

here is what i was thinking:

front(6.5)-rainbow slc 265 components

rear(6.9)- not sure....???.

amp(4 chl)- kicker zx350.4 or jl300/4

..i like bass but as i listen to trance i need crispy sound too so..

.. i am tryin to avoid getting a sub as i need to usemy trunk for now! may be later!

help me get a solid system!..

get the kicker amp. JL is a good, but overpriced. What is your price range? You can find many goodies if you have a good price range.

SLC's are great speakers. The setup you suggested yourself is actually pretty good.

i dont wanna spend more than 600!.. i just wanna get recommendation for rear speakers and amp!.. i dont know about system too much but.. what kind of speaker do u need in rear? which gives good bass or?

How about this?

Front comps: Rainbow SLC 265 Kicks about $280

Comps Amp: Blaupunkt VA4100 $160

Comp Active Xover: ICBM-7212 $40

Rears (run off HU): Pioneer REV TS-D691R $110

TOTAL: $590 (+ wiring, deadening, etc if needed).

I agree with Hintzy, if you can swing a sub and amp now, do it. No need for rear fill at all.

not a bad suggestion Deja but. . .how much do you trust a flea market brand like performance tecknique?
especially when the SLCs come with crossovers anyway. I doubt that this kid is quite ready to go active yet. So yeah:

Pioneer TS-C720PRS: $250 all over ebay

Diamond D3 400.2: $270

Puts you at $520 with great equipment. Save up another $200 and you can build yourself a decent substage.

From what I can gather, that xover is the same as the Profile RX30R (most of these likely come out of the same buildhouse out of China and are based around the same PCB design...just the aesthetics are different). For a budget/starter acive xover, I'd trust it.

But Hinty you do make a good point... the passives that come with the comps would be sufficient.

Sorry, I'm just on an active setup kick right now since I've been researching and understanding what the benefits are. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah, i hear ya. I'll be putting in my first active setup soon providing I can figure out my Alpine 3672. It's an active crossover from Alpine's glory days (Japanese Goodness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif ). Problem is it does 2/3way front, 2way rear, and sub and I only need 2way front!!! Trying to figure out how to overcome the frequency gaps and how to proprly set it up is confusing me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Hehehe I know what you mean and that's why I'm going to stick with 2-way front + sub for my active. lol

i already have a 12" sub but i use my trunk for work so i cant have it. so i am trying to have a nice setup for inside the car. that why i am tryin to find nice setup for the rear as i already have a good front setup which will be the rainbows
