System for a friend, help!

Hey guys, I am helping a friend pick out a system for his car and need some input. He wants pretty much all SQ but has a very limited budget so pretty much JL audio is out of the question. Here's a list of subs I feel are cheap and have decent sound quality. His budget has to include the subwoofers(1 or 2) + enclosure. It's going into an Explorer if that helps and his budget is about $220. He's got an amp that is 2 channel and puts out about 145watts rms x 2 channels.

1. Alpine Type-R - Cheap enough (would only get 1) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3036796253&category=32823

2. Kicker CompVR - I would probably get 2 of these

3. Elemental Design K Series - Again, probably just 1

4. Infinity Perfect 12.1D - I hear they have great SQ but can blow easy?

Any suggestions would be helpful as we need to order his stuff off the net immediately. Size of the subs don't matter but I was leaning more towards 12" just to have SQ/SPL.

Perfects blow, just like any other sub. I blew my first pair because I was an idiot and distorted them with the bass boost. DON'T USE THE BASS BOOST. Ahem.. anyway, I received a new pair shorty after, I overpowered them for about 6 months. I had the gain on my JBL1200.1 about 3/4 turned, and they sucked up the power like it was nothing. They sound wonderful, I strongly recommend.

For the amp you have and the power it puts out, i would say go with a Polk Audio GXR 124. I do have a pair of these and i think they play very well and have excelent sound quality for the price, check them out at http://www.polkaudio.com , and read all the reviews about them.

I would have to say go with the alpine R (2ohm+2ohm) and wire it in series, unless u have a 300W 2ohm stable amp then get the dual 4ohm and wire it in parellel.

-when I bought my polk mm12 I had a tough time deciding on 2 alpine r's or one polk mm12, but I figured every runs alpine and JL so I went polk.
