System advice

Hi guys, I've been looking into getting a stereo system put in my truck, but I really have no clue about what speakers, amps, etc.. to get. Plus I really don't know how all these things work, and what things go with what.

Anyways, Im looking to spend between 500-1k on it. In my truck it's already set up for 3 10' subs in the back.

Any recommendations or advice?

Thanks

Already setup as in you have 3 installed? What model? How much power, sq, other upgrades yet? Willing to do all the work yourself? Willing to buy used? What is the end goal?

I have a box installed that can hold 3 10' subs, but I don't have any yet. It's an 06 GMC Sierra Crew Cab. It's all stock so far other then my Kenwood deck. I am willing to do the work myself and I'm 50/50 on buying used.

I'm pretty uneducated on how everything works, and what is needed. I do have someone who offered to help me install everything though.

OK, sounds good. You will probably want to start off finding an amp for your sub stage. Depends on how much power you want to run. Look for something around 1500 to 2k RMS. That will net you some good power for 10s. Look into soundqubed, sundown, or something along those lines for the woofers. It really comes down yo price, and air space required. What's the volume of your enclosure?

Invest in 0g wiring. It will allow optimum current flow.

Knuconceptz has great prices.

Sound deaden the doors as best you can.

I'd help more but I'm on my phone and typing ***** lol

Thanks man, and not exactly sure on enclosure volume. I'll look into thing more, but I was just about to get offline and get some sleep.

Would you recommend any packages that offer subs, amps, wiring, etc..? Or would you buy everything on it's own?

If u buy separately you can save money getting stuff while getting better quality. Think about doing the big 3.

What sub's are you thinking about using? Don't fall for hyped up big box brands.

Honestly, I'll probably go with what you guys recommend providing it's in my price range. I said 500-1k but I would really like to keep the price down. 1k is my absolute max. Realistically, I'd like to spend 500-750 but I know that's going to be fairly tough if I want to get good quality

Do you plan on running anything for highs? If it was me I would get an american bass ph5100, 3 soundqubed or boston g1 10's. I'm not familiar with speaker sizes in your truck but some nice coaxial or components would do you great justice. I'd consider shouting at mylows10 or trumpet on here. They are respected business owners that have great customer service and can fill your needs and keep you in budget.
