Sync Issues

Hi, new here and I’m stumped. I am installing an Xtrons Android Headunit in my ‘12 Fusion Sport, it has the upgraded Sony system. Anyway, I bought the Axxess AX-FD1-SWC interface, etc. Everything works as it should but if I try Sync the radio shuts down. There is a connection for a mute wire but Headunit harness has everything but a mute wire. I’m thinking running brown mute wire to SWC wires that I’ve got hooked up to a 3.5 jack might solve the problem but I’m not sure.

I have researched online and come up with conflicting info, one sight says it’s switched 12 volt, another says ground it to override it. I’m fairly good with electronics but this one has me stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
