Switching to a Sound Quality system

So I've had my system for a while, and it's still loved very much. I am going to be keeping it in the car for at least another year, but I'm sure that in a year or so I will want to switch to a sound quality system. However I do not know what to do to have a good system for SQ. Can someone explain to me the concepts of it?

I was thinking maybe a good HU from Alpine or Pioneer with lots of options for sound. And a very high quality component set for the doors. With another smaller component set for the dash locations. I already have a fairly good set of 6x9's in the back.

As for subwoofers, i dont know if i can keep the subs and amp i have now or if i should switch to another shallower 10" or 8" sub and custom-make a box. The box is what i would really need help with because i was thinking of putting the sub in the cab instead of the trunk. You know, right in between the seats kinda in front of the rear seats. Does this work?

i hope that my new system (in the sig) has good sound quality. but anyone will tell you, the install matters more than the components with SQ.

laWl . . dont listen to him, he means well but its an SPL subwoofer. . . its like 1500 new and he's selling a pair 1/2 price practically NEW but not what your looking for.. . great price though. Look into DLS, Aura, Rainbow, Focal, Dynaudio if u what a real SQ system.

um ok... i think im a little over my head with this. Like i said, im new to SQ. And my system now isnt all that loud either... so im not too great at this whole thing

before you buy anything. read a lot more.

theres way too much to explain to you what 'sq' means. sound quality is not just better sounding non-all-bass music.
