Hey guys,

I haven’t been on here in quite a while , i have had other things going on, but I’m sure ya’ll haven’t missed me too much.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But to get to the point...

Some of you may vaguely remember that I built a 4-10" set up with those cheap MTX 8000’s (37$) and powered it with a big ole’ long Visonik 2800HC. It was the fourth set up I have done in my cars and by far the best, I finally reached my bass saturation level. (I thought I never would since I went trough progressively better 12” setups without getting the SPL I wanted) And I moved the subs to my back seat, so it’s quite an experience for me and my passengers when I have it up loud.

But anyway, now that I have satisfied my urge for loudness, I am starting to miss my backseat and trunk space, and I’m not competing so I am contemplating downgrading my system. I think I want one 10” or maybe 12” sub and install it nicely in my rear deck. Then I might get some Koda 8’s for the front doors and/or some great components to help with midbass.

So I guess I am asking for suggestions on some subs that would do the job. I want superior sound quality, but I also want something with a good punch, I’m not expecting 4-10” sound out of it but I want it to keep up with my needs too. I was considering a 10w7 or maybe go the RE route, but I’m not sure yet. That’s why I’m asking you guys.

Here’s a pic of my old setup when it was still in the trunk:

IA DP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif u want loud (i heard) it gives it to ya! Its a 12 tho!

I've tried LOTS of woofers, including may that you featured on your list. I honestly say, you'll want the 10w7 and WONT be satisfied with any of the other woofers. It will be the only 10" that will handle what you want. I'm currently deciding between two 10w7's, or one 12w7. Maybe 13w6v2, but I don't think they'll be strong enough for me...

yeah i really want one, but they are soooooo spendy. i might get one anyway cause i know it will last me.

what would be a great amp to put on it? the 500/1? im still looking for cheaper than that

SICK!!! but how much room do they need? i plan to build a custom box to attach to the underside of the deck and fire up into the cabin. (under 1.5 cubes sealed probly), i supposed i could port it. but SQ is of the utmost importance also.

it's kinda pricey.. but i would add a dd (digital designs) 9510 to your list... they flat out slam... i bet that one 10 would be close to your 4 10's...

Hifonics 1205d and a AudioQue HD10/12 DVC2 and you'll be happy
ive never heard of AudioQue ... any second opinions? prices? places to buy?

edit: prices on site look a-bout W7 territory, but The w7 has a hell of a rep and i've heard em' personally

The AudioQue? If you read into it, AudioQue is very similar to DD, well it used to be. They're varying off a little now, but for the most part, I've heard that the HD series from AudioQue is very similar to the 9500 series from DD. I was also told that AQ was "kinda" a sister company to DD, I tell you waht though, visit http://www.audioque.com (I think thats it, if not just search for it) and call the number on there, the guy there will answer all the questions you have in comparisons to DD, he's very nice too

have you heard a W7? how would you compare it to your HD12 if so?

Well if you care about the AQ - My enclosure that was built with a HD12 in mind was 2.5^ft after all displacements, I imagine that 1.5-1.75 should do just fine for the HD10...

Either one are going to give you what you want man, point blank.

I dont even nkow how to compare, I've never heard a 12w7 before to compare to the AQ

13w7 is a bit louder

Depends on how good you are at building boxes, basically :)

Both have outstanding SPL potential, JL will have a bit more SQ probably, once again dependant upon install
