Switch 9835 for P880?

Hey all. Just wondering if this would be a worthwhile switch. I love my 9835, but I'm not a fan of the EQ as it's not very user friendly. My friend has an 860 and I like how the EQ works, but I don't care about a color display as I love the B&W biolite. Also, I want my ipod to work faster than the KCA 420, but I want the same display/overall user friendliness of this adapter. Is the CD-IB100II an improvement over the KCA 420? My same friend with the 860 has the CIB100 and it's not nearly as good as the Alpine unit. Thanks for the opinions.

What do you not like about the parametric eq on the 9835..?

is it just me, or is an eq useless? i always set mine to flat and forget about it. from what i've heard the pioneer ipod interface sucks. i've had an 860 and 9835, and i like the 9835 better

i've experience a 8600 and a 960 and currently have a 9835, and i would say that the 9835 is the "user friendliest":eyebrow: out of all. As far as the EQ goes, I prefer a graphic EQ like the one on the 9855 and the Pioneers. To me it's easier to deal with, especially since in each of the five bands on the Alpine you have to pick which frequency you want to adjust. That and that sluggishness of the iPod adapter are my two main grievances.

It's just you. The amount needed depends heavily on the install and vehicle, but there are some things that simply can't be fixed in most people's systems without one.

The P880 ipod interface is among the best available it is very snappy, and controlled with the 7-way multicontrol knob.

not to thread jack, but does anyone know if the 980 will use the same xover setup as the 880? and what exactly it is in the 880..i'm assuming some form of pro mode, but they just say a 3 way xover on the site
