supercap bank size

I will be running around 1500w rms and want to add a bank to my system to help. What's the lowest I should go for in farads, I'm trying to keep the cost down but want to make sure I'm covered. I have a 2013 civic lx and will be upgrading the little battery to a group 34 agm also.

One bank of 6 is what you need

1 bank of super caps will be more than enough

you can get a used bank for around $150 if you shop around/wait for a deal

otherwise they run about $250 new

and the 2600f or 3000f banks will both do well. just make sure you have the correct voltage cells or they will be unhappy

Just for one bank. Expect to pay $175 to $250 easy. Only time you'll get them cheaper is if you buy quite a few at once even eBay they are $40+ each

I should have been more clear. I only planned on running one bank at 16v, I wanted to know how many farads I could get away with without it being overkill? There are a few kits between 58-80 farads for a little more than $100.

Shouldn't need a bank of supercaps for 1.5k... especially with a group 34 AGM up front.

Overkill if you're getting legitimate capacitors, which are expensive.

Power caps are 2700 or more farads each cap. But you need 6 to make a bank I run 4 banks in my truck and get barely any drop now

The 60 farad is crap. The others are meant for the inside of a amp not what you want you super caps are what you want

These you can get for allot cheaper and are not the same class of caps as the Maxwell or XS super capacitors.

This question^ charging at 16v or 16v battery? And if only running 1500watts the main reason is why? Stock alt with big three and agm batt under the hood and u will be fine.

16v because I read if it's a newer car with an ECU, many of them go as high as 15.5 at times. Many newer cars have the bare minimum electrical to run on so adding a decent system is a no go on stock. There's no h/o alt option and the electrical system is such that you would need to mess with the computer even if one were possible. The bigger agm battery will help but keep_hope_alive said a cap bank is a necessity for our cars. I just don't think I'd need 500 farads (3000x6 in series) for my system.
