Sundown Zv3 18

I just bought a zv3 18 and am in the process of building a box. Had pro rabbit design me a box and im gonna be running about 2600 rms and we thought 6 cubes tuned at 32 hz would be best. I have my design if you want that. Sub is on top and port is facing back along bottom. Im going to have the motor of the zv3 facing up. And I live in Buffalo and have done lots of business with Bill Lolo and he does great work. Iv been doing this for awhile and Bills prices are very very fair. Im only putting 1 dd M2b on the zv3 18 but going to get 2 eventually.

ok so what made you and pro rabbit go with 6 cubes? Is the 6 cubes before or after displacement? Just curious.... Im running a bc3500 @ 1 ohm and im going sub up port back. @pro\-rabbit;

For his application and goals that is what looked to work the best for him. For you though it will likely be different. Even if it is the same volume I can tell you that the port design and tuning will be different for you since you are always chasing numbers.

Yea my box design would be perfect for you. sub up port back. But like rabbit said i like my lows so i guess my design wouldnt be perfect for you. But I got it if you want it. And for the 6 cubes I am not using as much power as you and Iv used alot of 18s and i just cant understand putting that big of a woofer in that small of box. I know thats what they call for but I dont ever go exactly what they recommend. The zv3 can handle a 6 cube box all day weather its after displacement or not in my opinion.

hmmmm... well seeing that im being told 4 cubes and 6 cubes, i may just shoot for the middle. with it being in a blazer i do sub up, port back because its a proven design lol. Yea since im running quite a bit of power for 1 sub i need to keep it kinda small for better control...

i see. i know its, test, test and test some more. im just trying to figure out a good starting point as far a enclosure size goes

Ill let everyone know what it sounds like in 6 cubes. Im interested to know if 5 would have been better. I finished the box today and it came out great. Will have everything done by next week for testing. I wish I had 3500 to work with but im exited to see how the dd m2b sounds. Might be posting it on here if i dont like it and get something else. We will see...

even with the dd m2 on it the zv3 should still sound good. yes let me know how it turns out. My sub ships out tomorrow, so should be here about weds or thurs. but i have still have to work on the box before i figured out anything.
