ok... i have design for 5.5 cubes gross, double baffled all the way around to help with bracing. after sub and port displacement, it would be right at 5 cubes net(5.03 cubes net actually). And with a single 8" inch aero port.In 4 cubes it will be a bit peaky 5-6 cubes is a better choice.
Its just numbers.you didnt comment so i take it you dont agree with my box plan lol
what do you mean? as far as the design goes, im going sub up on passenger side, and port back on drivers side. 1 8" flared aeroport and tuned to 39hz, because i dont like tuning to 32 ish-hz like most people are telling me to because i dont listen to anything that low really. Its just numbers.
oh, this box is only going to be 19 inches tall, i believe it may be right at window window level. the sub it self may be over the window, and then 21 inches deep(front to back) the other box was about 28 or so inches deep. And those are the double plate measurements. the box length with be 36 inches. i used the 12v.com enclosure calc to figure the internal volume of it.What I mean is just saying 5.03@39 hz doesnt tell me anything really even the discription you gave need to see a actual design keeping box low and room to breath in the rear.
im hoping it is. it will be a thick sturdy birch wood box, double layered all the way around for good brace measures and ill probly althread it front to back & i may put a dial rod or 2 on the inside from top to bottom for bracing as well. should be a good and solid lolI think your box plan sounds good. Its sounds like it will be fine for what your looking for. 5 cubes is right on the money.
lol you would be surprised but i dont think it should. if it does and you dont want to added another sheet of wood, just put 1 or 2 wooden dial rods on the inside. that would help. my box shouldnt flex much if any loli went 2 layers for my baffle and then added a 3rd layer on top to flush mount so my top is 3 layers and sides i did just 1 layer but heavy bracing. That baffle i made better not even move with 3 sheets of 3/4 thick lmao
