You most likely will not find a used one for under 100. Any of the ones being sold now have the spider plates. You will have to ask particular sellers if they have the rings or not.

i might check in with him, there like 115 threw him i think. i should by new but i just wana try it out. how do i know wich ones need the epoxy on the landing of the spider? i just wana know which one to get. oh yea there is a change in spece with the dual 2 and dual 4. is there any real diff between the 2? the fs goes up a tad

those pretty much are new. But you save 15 bucks. he has reconed so many of those subs i can only imagine their perfect. But the only change i can think of would maybe be a slightly different coil, same enclosure requirements tho. and your best bet would be to just ask him about the spiders

If you are planning on eventually upgrading to more, wait and buy a new one. You will have problems getting more that match the one you have if you don't.

They went through 3 stages

1. No spider ring.

2. Spider rings.

4. Spider rings.stronger spider, stronger surround.

When I recone subs, I usually toss the rings. If the glue didn't hold the first time, it was either shitty glue or it wasn't prepped to begin with well enough.

We don't use the rings on re-cones -- they are used from the factory as their glue isn't as good as ours and it's 100% certain that spider is NOT going to come off.

With CA glue on the spiders it is extremely hard to get the spider off of the frame. Typically I will also either pool up CA on top around the perimeter of the spider or fill in epoxy around the edge when I re-cone them for customers.

The very FIRST production units had no ring so I made the video of adding epoxy around the spider.

Next couple runs had the spider rings and same cone / spider.

I have some that will be here shortly with our newly tooled surround but still same spider.

Mid to end of November the units with new surround, new spider, slightly modified D2 coil, and bigger leads will be here -- that is the final version for the SA-8 in it's v.1 form as it addresses all currently known modes of damage / failure we have seen to date... will be around for probably a few thousand units until I come up with something big enough to make a v.2 version.

I already have the new spiders in stock for re-cones and will have the new cone / surrounds in stock with the November production run.

I wouldn't call anything a known issue -- I improve a product whenever I see a possibility regardless of what % of them will need it. Including the original un-bolted spider SA-8s the % of how many we sold vs. how many have broken is quite low -- even counting extreme abuse situations. There are several production runs of a couple hundred subs each floating around of SA-8s already so we have a fair amount of data on that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Of course if you intend to slowly buy them it would be advisable to get the ones in November since they will be sold for some time with no changes.

I am not increasing the prices at this time -- they will still be $129

how many u doing? i know most people say wait but i know the people that preodered will get theres and i know i would have to wait then i would not have the money. i think i wana try the newest ones of the older style . i guess stage 3 , i have a wtb for these so if u guys have one or know some one with one let me know.

i really wouldnt bother waiting cause if you ever blow it you can recone it on the cheap...
